Introduction

The California State University (CSU) is a renowned university which gets a contribution from taxpayers through the State’s General Fund which exceeds half of its revenue. The other amount that fund CSU is the money obtained from tuition fees contributed by students and also their families. Some of the states funds are provided directly to every system’s campuses, as the rest are allocated through the central UC Office of the president. The financial aid provided by the California state government is offered by the governor on January every year and approval made by the state legislator in the fiscal year’s end in June. Essentially, the UC system has been a large beneficiary of financial support from California State (“Codes Display Text,” n.d.). This state funding helps schools in maintaining and sustaining and maintaining tuition fees as low as possible because the state grant covers most of the activities and costs encountered. The quantity of money to be provided to CSU is determined every year on the basis of the needs that the university requires. These needs may include; funded student enrollment, compensating employees, and maintaining and developing infrastructure.

When preparing the state budget and also when allocating these funds, partisan politicians and various interest groups are involved. This is because they are part of key decision-makers in the manner the funds will be allocated based on the needs of CSU. Therefore, the manner in which CSU is funded is affected by partisan politicians and interest groups are through the assessment of their needs and deciding on the amount to grant CSU (“Codes Display Text,” n.d.). Moreover, the larger part of financial support is provided through the State’s General Fund which makes it automatically impacted by political elites.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS

To be eligible for admission to a four-year university, students must meet subject requirements. These requirements represent the minimum academic standards for eligibility. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission to the campus and program of choice often requires students to meet more demanding standards including high entrance examination test scores. All courses taken to satisfy college admission requirements must be completed with a semester grade of C or higher.
